Sit-down Protest in front of the Chinese Consulate in Chicago. This will happen every Tuesday until March 10, 2010. The 1st sit-down was on May 26, 2009. There will be three members of the Wisconsin Tibetan community going down to Chicago every Tuesday for this protest event. Wednesday, 3/10/2010 – 51st Commemoration of the Tibetan National Uprising
a. At Madison– Gather at Library Mall at 10am and then march up to the State Capitol. The main program for the day will begin at the State Capitol around 12pm. The events will end at 2pm. We request that all Tibetans who are not going down to Chicago will come for the program and bring their children and friends as well. Please don't forget to bring a Tibetan national flag as well as the U.S. national flag.
b. At Chicago - There will be 2-3 buses going to Chicago to take volunteers to demonstrate in front of the Chinese Consulate. We are still collecting names of all who are willing to go down to Chicago. Also we are collecting $10/- per person from every Tibetan in Madison over 18 years to pay for the buses. Please give your names and also $10/- per person to your phone-tree person-in-charge or call Phurbu Tsering at (608) 274-1309.The buses will be waiting at the West Side D.O.T. parking lot on Sheboygan Ave. at 6:15am. Buses will leave at 6:45 am sharp.
Sunday, 3/14/2010 – St. Patrick's Day Parade at the State Capitol. This year WTA was invited by the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee to participate in the Parade. The WTA committee takes this opportunity to join the Parade to showcase Tibetan dress and culture. We would like as many people as possible to join us at the Parade wearing their Tibetan Dress. Please bring your children to the Parade also in Tibetan Dress and we ask everyone to bring a Tibetan National Flag and some U.S. National Flags with you for the Parade.
4/5/2010 – Ku-Ngo Lobsang Nyandrak-la, Representative for North America, will be visiting Madison, WI in preparation for His Holiness’ visit here in May of 2010. The WTA will host a talk/listening session between the Representative and members of the Tibetan community at Deer Park at 6pm on 4/5/2010. We plan to have a potluck after the talk/listing session.
Update on "Thank you letter" to all sponsors/volunteers who helped the Tibetan Community during the Tibetan Resettlement Project.
As of now we have sent out 25 'Thank you' letters to all the people that we were able to contact from the list that was provided to us by Skip Kindy. Most of the people have either moved away or have changed their phone numbers. We will put up this list at our next public meeting. If you know of a sponsor or volunteer that we were not able to locate and who has not received a letter please call any WTA Committee member with name, phone number and address. We planned to complete this mailing list by March 10, 2010. Also we will create a group known as "Wisconsin Friends of Tibet".

The 1st Sunday of every month there will be a children's activity coordinated by Alyssa Tsagong and Savitri at the Deer Park Gonpa.
